Welcome to the IODA2008 Conference Website. Yes, it has happened and what a great time we all had - from the great opening performed by the Hon. Papa Owusu Ankomah, Minister of Trade, Industry & Presidential Special Initiatives, on behalf of His Execellency Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana to the Closing Plenary under able hands of Dr Ulla Nagel, President of IODA, it was a great.

One thing that also happened during the week (during the Annnual Gala Nite) was the handing over of the the IODA Quilt from IODA Canada, hosts of last year's conference. It would be our pleasurable duty to carry the Quilt to the next hosting country - INDIA!! You better begin your preparations for IODA2009 in India, because we have!!!.

This website will therefore be progressively wound down as the momentum towards IODA2009 in Hyderabad, India picks up.

We have prepared, for your reading and download pleasure, all the papers presented at IODA2008. To be able to access the papers, go to the DOWNLOADS page. You require your user name and password - which you will find at the bottom right of your Certificate of Participation. IODA members who were unable to come to Ghana may contact IODA executive for the requisite access rights.

We thank all those who travelled from so many countries to this conference, demonstrating the uniquely diverse nature of the IODA family. Can you believe it!! IODA2008 had delegates from Australia, Benin, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Netherlands, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Togo and the United States of America. did we miss anyone?

We are particularly pleased to have had this opportunity to bring together the IODA family & friends to share, among other things, the joy of new thinking, fresh ideas, professional collaboration between practictioners, researchers, academic faculty, clients and business and community leaders.

The theme of the conference "Growing Together in Partnership" also exemplifies a Ghanaian proverb which says that "You cannot tell how crooked the path is as you cut your way through, but the one following you can".

Many were those whose wise counsel, critiques, new ideas were all put into the IODA2008 thinking pot to cook this great stew of OD experience. To simply say Thank You would never be enough. We also say "AYEKOOO" as our sincere expression of appreciation. You have all demonstrated the power of relationships, thought cohesion, collateral benefits, providing a shoulder to hang on to. what more can we say!!!

Through the client consulting visit opportunity, the relevance of the OD profession has received a nice boost.

Come on in!!!

... and on the Gala Night Annual IODA Gala Nite on Wednesday July 30, 2008, Gloria Sarku of Ghana wrote and sang her heart with "As I look around me, I see IODA in a different light... tra la la.

It was simply fantastic. We all joined in and the mood was more than festive when we held hands up and danced the evening away.
